ŞAHİNDERESİ CANYON

Altınoluk Şahin stream canyon, located in the Kazdağı National Park, distributes the clean, pine and thyme-scented air it receives from the Kaz Mountains to the Edremit Bay, while at the same time carrying the iodine-rich, moss-scented air it receives from the sea towards the mountains, it acts as a natural bellows.
In short, Şahinderesi canyon is like the chimney of Edremit Bay. It must be due to this air circulation that the surrounding area provides habitat for various endemic plants and hundreds of different types of animals. The length of the canyon is 26 km and its height reaches up to 600-700 meters. (37 min. 29.6 km)
